The idea for CARNETS SONORES emerged our of an anti-conventional journey and seeks to bring together, in the style of a travel journal, an audio biography. While Cristina Vilallonga's compositional style is contemporary, her diverse influences also include those who draw upon folklore - Bartók, Shostakovich, Ellington, Stravinsky, Piazzolla, and Ligeti - as well as from her contemporaries in the new tango movement, including Diego Schissi and Gustavo Beytelmann, not to mention the folkloric influences of Latin America, tango, and jazz.
In her compositions, Cristina Vilallonga’s writing reveals a deeply personal language that, far from merely imitating existing forms or styles, transforms her art as a composer and performer into a truly magical bridge.
“A bridge exists only in the moment it is crossed by someone,”
said the Argentine writer Julio Cortazar
CARNETS SONORES brings together several works, including:

In these new instrumental pieces, she aims to create music that is full of life, free, even visceral. This music seeks to deepen the interplay between acoustic instruments, focusing specially on timbre. While it retains a sense of mystery, it stays grounded in a modern, cryptic soundscape. The guiding principle is to allow each part of the shared project to speak its own language.
This is an opportunity to discover the full richness of this composer’s art and to allow the audience to finally hear what she carries within her: the source of her voice and her ideas. Her work invites us to listen closely, revealing a creator who masterfully blends knowledge and diverse styles through original sounds and free forms.
